Mr Austin Earl Hartman, husband of Mrs Marie T Cannon Hartman, who had formerly resided in Harrisonburg VA, and who now resided at 419 Logan Street, died very suddenly at his residence on Thursday evening, June 27, 1974.

He was born in Point of Rocks on April 18, 1914, the son of the late Edward L and Mattie L Ayers Hartman.

Mr. Hartman was employed as a conductor for the B&O Railroad. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Frederick. He was a member of the B&O Veterans, and the United Transportation Union, AFL CIO Local 610.

Surviving him besides his wife is one daughter, Mrs Betty N Roseberry, Sierra Vista, Arizona, three brothers; Leo W Hartman, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Claude J Hartman, Point of Rocks, and Charles J Hartman, Frederick, Maryland, three sisters; Mrs Alice Hawkins and Mrs Mattie Burdette, both of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Mrs Anna Hill, Buckeystown. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadeley, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home (formerly Etchison's), 106 East Church St. on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, at 11am from the funeral home. Internment will be in Mt Olivet Cemetery.
