Alan McKelvie, died Monday, November 13, 2006 at Sunrise Country Manor, Milford, Nebraska. Alan was born September 15, 1923 southwest of Clay Center, Nebraska.

Alan attended Fairfield (NE.) School and served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Aviation Radioman 2nd Class. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1951 with an Agricultural Engineer Degree. On August 25, 1955, he married Ruth V. Theobald at the First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on September 9, 2006. He farmed his birthplace until March of 1965. He worked for Hastings (NE.) Utilities, retiring in 1985 and moved to Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska in 1989. He was active with the Board of Directors of Nebraskans First (a coalition of underground irrigators) & was a 50 year member of the American Legion Club.

Alan was preceded in death by: mother, Alice (Pesek) McKelvie, wife, Ruth V. McKelvie and brother, Robert McKelvie.
