The Elk Valley Times, Observer and News, Thursday, October 14, 1971. Mrs. Jennie Belle Allen of Flintville died Friday at Lincoln County Hospital following a brief illness. She was 68 years old and was the widow of Raymond Allen, who died in July. Services were held Saturday afternoon at Gallant Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Leslie Jacobs and Dr. Wayne Wiman officiating. Burial was in Flintville Cemetery. A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late John and Jennie Couch Bryant and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. David Williamson, Fayetteville, and Mrs. Kenneth Stephenson, Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Stiles of Harriman, Mrs. Laura Edde of Fayetteville and Mrs. Mattie Edde of Moore County; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
