Richard F. Cronin, 78, of Naperville and formerly of Oswego, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Tabor Hills Health Care Facility in Naperville.
He was born Nov. 29, 1923, in Topeka, Kan.
He had been a Naperville resident since 1955. He was retired from Northern Trust Corp. in 1986 after 34 years of service as a safe deposit manager and officer.
He served as president of the Illinois Safe Deposit Association and received the Presidential Award in 1981. He was listed in "Who's Who in the Midwest," was a member of the Naperville Moose Lodge and graduated from Loyola University in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
She is survived by three children, Barbara Faith (husband David) Jordan of Naperville, Marilyn (husband Dave) Young of Plainfield and Michael (wife Barbara) Cronin of Cincinnati; a stepdaughter, Jan (husband Wayne) Dulin of Mundelein; 11 grandchildren, John, Vanessa, Michele, Lori, Lisa, Shelli, Jessica, Brian, Joseph, Shane and Weston; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roberta (husband Sam) Inzerillo of Park Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia E. (Ellison) Cronin; his second wife, Lucille (Wooley) Cronin; a brother, Kenneth Cronin; and a sister, Laverne Garry.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25. The Revs. John Hines and Richard Pistole will officiate.
Interment will be at Naperville Cemetery.
