Although sustaining two serious wounds, while recuperating he worked in the medical unit aiding his fellow wounded comrades. He also took part in liberating a concentration camp deep within Nazi occupied Poland. Mr. Szczepanski was awarded numerous honors for his bravery and obtained the position of Tech Sergeant.
After the war, Mike was employed by Kuhn and Jacobs Tool and Molding Company. He also completed an orthodontic technician course and worked part-time in this field until his sudden death.
A loving father, he had a daughter, Sharon and a son, Michael John Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jezewski Szczepanski, his two children, son-in-law James Hutchinson, daughter-in-law Roz and two granddaughters, Natalia and Tara. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and just being in the great outdoors. He passed away suddenly on his son's first birthday. He is loved and missed and will always be remembered.
