Francis Davis also served in the NC General Assembly from 1874 to 1880.

Dr. Davis' father, Zachariah Clingman Davis, was born August 27, 1861, in Iron Duff, and passed his career there as a planter, farmer, fruit grower and stockman.

In 1911, at Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Davis married Miss Bonnie Jean Marquardt, who had been born at Asheville, NC, a daughter of L. P. and Frances (Fullam) Marquardt. The former was born at Havana, IL, and the latter at Asheville, NC.
