Born in Alexandria, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Virginia (Lankard) and Samuel Smith.
Eloise was a Boyertown High School graduate as well as a graduate of Werner Beauty school in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Eloise was a beautician for more than 50 years, with her primary business at her former residence in Gilbertsville. Prior to that, she and her sister, Elinor, owned the former Twins Beauty Salon in Boyertown.
Eloise also belonged to St. Luke Lutheran Church, also having taught Sunday school with her husband for 50 years. She also had belonged to the ladies auxiliary at the Gilbertsville Fire Company and a Twin Ponds Ladies Golf League and was a 50-year member of a bridge club.
She is survived by her sons, Scott, and wife, Susan Schwebel, Jamison; and Ted, and wife, Susan Schwebel, Boyertown; and daughters, Christine, wife of Ron Lambert, Bechtelsville; and Kathy, wife of Jim Coker, Oley.
There are also six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Roger Schwebel; a granddaughter, Terry Lambert; four sisters: Mildred Hoffman, Lois Koplin, Frances Mahr and Elinor Trul-linger; and a brother, Robert Smith.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave., Gilbertsville. Viewing will be held from 9 until 10:15 a.m. on the day of service. The Rev. Christopher L. Weidner will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.
