James Matthew (Matt) Marshall, 33 of Columbus, GA passed away on December 21, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House. A celebration of life will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church on Highway 431, Phenix City, AL, Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., according to Vance Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall. Matt was preceded in death by his father Fred D. Marshall, Jr. Survivors include his parents Jaime and Sam Singer, Jr. of Phenix City, three brothers Fred D. Marshall III (Loretta) of Columbus, Sam Singer, III, Columbus, and George Singer (LeeAnne) of Ladonia, one sister Jessica Chappell (Jay) of Americus, GA., grandparents Irene Oliver of Humboldt, TN and Sam and Ann Singer of Lumpkin, GA., his fiancee Karan Spivey and her daughters Ashlea and Kristin, and other family members and friends. Matt was a Christian and attended Beallwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA.
