Census and death records indicate John Byrd was born in 1860 (not 1863). More research is needed. Census records also indicate John Byrd was born in Big Mound, Wayne County, Illinois (not Ohio). Further research is needed in this area also.
Per Omar Zimmerman's family tree (in Ohio). The Zimmermans in Wayne County and Clay County came to Illinois in 1856 from Wood County, Ohio. They had come from New York, to Pennsylvania, to Ohio, then to Illinois. There is a side note in this tree commenting that the year they left Ohio may have been 1886.
If it was the year 1856, then John Byrd was born in Illinois. If it was in 1886 (very doubtful), then John Byrd was born in Wood County, Ohio.
John Byrd and his wife Stella Myrtle only had one child, Ora June Zimmerman.
