Charles Richard Simi was born to Gustaf Simi, minister of the Lutheran Church, and Maria Elizabeth Simi, at Quincy, Oregon, on August 6, 1894.
He passed away January 1, 1960, in the home of his son, William, at Vancouver, Washington. 
He was united in marriage to Edna Wiidanen on August 29, 1928.  To this union was born one son, William.
Mr. Simi was a resident of Centerville about 45 years.  During this time, he was engaged in farming, commercial fishing, and carpenter work.  He was a member of the Finnish Lutheran Church, and was a veteran of World War I, having served in France for 10 months; and was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Simi of Centerville; a son, William of Vancouver; one grandson, Brian; two step grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Bradley Simmons; three sisters, Lena Ahola, Vancouver, Fannie Daniels, Portland, and Miriam Olson, Goldendale.
