John & Deary Yan Benton were originally interred in the Benton Family Cemetery, but in 1980 the Benton family bought 10 plots at the Edwards Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, TX to relocated. A nearby creek was to be dammed & the Benton Family Cemetery would be underwater.

John's birth & death dates are on the stone, but Deary Yan's are not.

There is an inscription in small carving across the bottom of the double stone: "Their bodies are buried in the dust but their names shall live forever"
