Denver was a grandson of Andrew J. and Nancy Elizabeth Miller Potts, who are also buried in this cemetery.
He was a veteran of WW II, where he served in the US Army and a member of the Oak Hill Church Of God, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing crossword puzzles, playing 500 rummy, attending public sales and working on and repairing lawn mowers.
Denver was previously employed with M.J. Bucheimer Leather Co., Frederick, The City Of Frederick from which he retired in 1985 and Mealey's Restaurant part-time, New Market.
Surviving are one daughter, Malinda Mae Shook and one son, Paul D. Powell and wife Sheryl, Mount Pleasant two grandchildren, Cathy Lynn Boyd, Taneytown and Donald P. Shook Jr., Mount Pleasant, one great-granddaughter, Angela Mae Geisler, Arizona.
He is also survived by two brothers, Garfield "Buddy" Potts and wife Sally, Woodsboro and a number of nieces and nephews and was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Potts and Doris Fogle and three infant brothers, Garland, Wilbur and Charles Potts.
Funeral held at Hartzler Funeral Home, Woodsboro with Rev. Fred Horner, retired pastor of Valley Bible Church officiating and internment made in Oak Hill Cemetery, Le Gore by Hartzler funeral directors.
