MRS. EDMONDA BROKAW, member of Early-day Missouri Family was 80. She was a former regent of Kansas City Chapter of the D.A.R.
Mrs. Edmonda Nickerson
Brokaw, 80 years old, 4633 Harrison Street, died last night at the home.
Mrs. Brokaw was born in Warrensburg, Mo., at Selmo Park, which is now the residence of the president of Central Missouri State college.
She was the daughter of the late Edmond A. Nickerson and Mrs. Hulda Tyler Nickerson. Her father was a prominent early-day Missouri attorney and a member of the Missouri Constitutional convention.
In 1906 she was married to Paul VanDoren Brokaw. He died in 1939.
She attended Mary Institute in St. Louis, the former Warrensburg State Normal school in Warrensburg and Washington University in St. Louis.
A former regent of the Kansas City chapter of the D.A.R., Mrs. Brokaw was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Order of the First Families of Virginia, National Society of Magna Charta Dames, Descendants of the Knights of the Garter and Americans of Royal Descent.
Mrs. Brokaw had lived here since 1931. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Morrison R. McCormick and a grand-daughter, both of Menominee, Mich., and a son, Frederic N. Brokaw, of the home.
