Macon County Tennessee Obituaries & Articles Vol #2

21 Oct 1937-Macon County Times-Mrs Malissie Parker-aged 78 years died at the home of her daughter Mrs Laura Owen, about eight o'clock Friday night after a long illness. Survived by two sons, W L Parkes and James B Parkes; one daughter, Mrs W G Owen; two half-sisters, Mrs Letha Whitson and Mrs Emily Whitley; all living near Red Boiling Springs.

The funeral service was conducted Saturday afternoon by Elder William McDonald after which the remains were laid to rest in Bethany Cemetery beside those of her husband, the late Andrew Parkes, who preceeded her to the grave 9 years ago.
