Sharon Elaine Irby, 64, passed away, Thursday, December 22, 2005 in Lubbock, Texas. Sharon was born on August 10, 1941 in Dresden, Ohio, the daughter of Gerald Hubert Lapp and Lucile May Longaberger Lapp.
She married Eldon Irby on August 13, 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She had enjoyed genealogy for the past 25 years and had traced her own family history from Germany and England to the 1300's. She was a founder of the Preservation Society of the Muskingum Cemeteries in Ohio, the Ohio Genealogy Society, The Muskingum County Genealogy Society, was Daughter of the American Revolution, and a membe of the First United Methodist Church in Dresden, Ohio. She loved gardening, animals, hummingbirds, and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Eldon of Abilene, Texas; one son, Frank Owen Irby; two daughters, Debra Lynn Wallace and Carol Anne Molina and husband, Johnny all of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, John Gabriel Molina, Jared Michael Molina, Emily Relianos Irby, and Joshua Alexander Irby; two great grandchildren; one sister, Rita Ann Mooney of Lubbock, Texas. Services for Sharon Elaine Irby will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel of Independence with the Reverend Willie Jones of the Grace Memorial United Methdodist Chruch officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605 or the Humane Society of the United States, 301-258-8276
