Son of the late Benjamin and Cora Moore Beaman, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ramona Hinnant Beaman. He was survived by his wife, Nancy Carvan Beaman; daughters, Jean Beaman Adams (Eddie, Wendy Beaman and Wanda Beaman Beaman Grant (Anthony); sons, Joe Herman Beaman, Jr. (Vickie) and Chris Beaman (Vicki); stepchildren; grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Sam Beaman; sisters, Frances Mozingo and Faye McGee; and an extended family of relatives. He was a member of Snow Hill Presybterian Church.
