Glenn W Unger, 69, of Hanover, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, February 21, 1993 at Hanover General Hospital.

Born in Hanover, Penn Township, Pennsylvania he was the youngest of 6 children born to Oliver Jeremiah Unger & Annie Mae Reichart Unger. He was the husband of Kathleen Fuhrman Unger, to whom he had been married for 46 years.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hanover. He was employed for 40 years with Keystone Seneca Wire Cloth Co., prior to retiring in 1987. He was then employed by Hanover Candy & Tobacco. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the European Theatre, where he received the purple heart.

He was a member of the VFW Post 2506 of Hanover, the American Legion Post 14 of Hanover, the AMVETS Post 22 of Hanover, the Disabled American Veterans, the York County Fireman's Association, the American Association of Retired Persons, and a past member of the Lancers Drum & Bugle Corps of Hanover.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and their three sons, Larry G Unger of Hanover, Garry L Unger and Terry L Unger of New Oxford; four grandchildren; and one sister Mildred Marie Unger Krumrine of Hanover.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister: Cletus Sylvester Unger, Gladys Unger Leppo, Ernest Leroy Unger and Kenneth W Unger.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with the Rev. Luther G Heist officiating. Interment will be in Penn (Marburg) Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
