Uncle Jack was living in San Marcos at the time of his death. My Grandmother Slaughter lived with him as a caregiver after his massive stroke. Most of Uncle Jack's life was spent in/around Dallas and Waco. When he was in San Marcos he had a Woodstock typewriter repair shop on the ground floor of the Hofeinz Hotel [Now, 2010 the county tax office.]

Uncle Jack and John Carl Slaughter, also buried here, are first cousins but they never knew one another during life.
