Anna E. Eichorn, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 98, of Windsor, entered eternal life on Friday, October 17, 2003, at her home in Windsor that she loved; with her family at her side.
Anna Rutz was born March 17, 1905, in Doenhof, Russia, the daughter of Henry and Anna Elizabeth (Schwab) Rutz.
Anna and her family immigrated to the United States during the Bolshevik Revolution. Their journey was difficult, getting as far as Minsk Russia, where they remained for several months. It was at this time her father died leaving the family to earn enough money to continue.
They arrived at Frankfort, Germany, on the Oder and were detained at a refugee camp for nine months. They left Germany on an immigrant ship, the Mount Clinton, arriving at Ellis Island, NY, in August 1923, where they were processed through to their final designation of Windsor.
She married Ludwig "Louie" Eichorn on Jan. 13, 1924, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Windsor. He proceeded her in death on Aug.31, 1989. Together they farmed in the Windsor/Fort Collins area, retiring in 1957, moving to Windsor where they enjoyed many wonderful years together.
She was a member of the Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor.
She is survived by daughters; Lila Schilling and Shirley Jones; one son, Edward Eichorn.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, one son, Rhine, her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
