Avis Helen McDaniel, daughter of the late Jesse R. and Ruby (Cale) Wyatt was born on April 13, 1914 in Sarcoxie, Missouri. She departed this life on Monday, April 24, 2006 at the Parks Edge Nursing Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of ninety-two years and ten days.

On September 19, 1937 in Rogers, Arkansas she was united in marriage to W.E. McDaniel and to this union five daughters and two sons were born. Helen made her home in the Carthage area until moving to the Broken Arrow area in 2002. Throughout her life she was a hardworking and devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She was a longtime member of the Center Point Christian Church in Carthage, Missouri where she taught Sunday school. She later joined the Cedar Ridge Christian Church upon moving to Broken Arrow. Helen was a charter member of the Jolli Neighbors Extension Club in Carthage. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting and the fellowowship with her friends in the extension club.

She was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband, W.E. McDaniel on Feb. 12, 2000, and a daughter, Helen Earnestine Huff.

Helen is survived by four daughters, Catherine Snyder, and husband, Levi, of Reeds, Missouri, Mary Evans of Carthage, Missouri, Beverly Graff Powell and husband, David, of of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Betty Wilson and husband, Roger, of Paris, Missouri; two sons Robert McDaniel and wife, Charlene, of Carthage, Missouri, and Eddie McDaniel and wife, Janice of Joplin, Missouri; Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wyatt, of Carthage, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Helen McDaniel are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Housh Funeral HomeChapel in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor John Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in Fasken Cemetery. Those honoring Helen's life by serving as pallbearers are Travis Hitchcock, Bradley Evans, Randy Huff, Billy Graff, Chris Huff, Jason Graff, Mike Snyder, Pat Snyder, Matthew Snyder. The family will recieve friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Ninos De, Mexico Christian Orphanage Fund and contributions may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Housh Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
