Loving mother of Joseph (Joyce) Nunes of Pacific Grove. Dear sister of Joe Lowenstein of San Mateo; Benjamin Lowenstein of San Carlos and Mary Rawson of San Mateo. Devoted grandmother of Heidi Vollers; John Nunes and Jennifer Fontinelli. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husbands Lawrence J. Nunes and Antonio Branco. Also preceded in death by one son, Lawrence J. Nunes Jr., three brothers; Tony, Frank and Leonard Lowenstein; three sisters; Helen Russo; Kate Ertz and Margaret Brasier., and one grandson; Joseph Nunes Jr.
Rose was a resident of Stockton for over 27 years where she worked at Woolworth's at the fountain for many years, Rose also worked as a packager of medical supplies, and was the owner and operator of Rose's Lunch Spot in Stockton.
Through the years Rose loved to cook and entertain and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed the time spent at Summerview in Stockton prior to moving to Pacific Grove to be closer to her family.
The family wishes to acknowledge Rose's special Care Giversˇ in Stockton; Zoe & Doris; for the love and kindness they showed Rose in the sunset of her life.
Funeral Mass will be held 10am Thurs May 12 at St. Angela's Catholic Church in Pacific Grove. Interment will be in El Carmelo Cemetery, Pacific Grove. Memorials in memory of Rose may be made to Heartland Hospice, 2511 Garden Road, #B200, Monterey, CA 93940. Arrangements by The Paul Mortuary of Pacific Grove.
