Born 2 Nov 1856, Sack, Kr. Regenwalde, Pommern, Prussia, a village of only 5 Families (not on the map), and attended the Parish in Maldewin, very few records from Maldewin exist.
August was fleeing the German Army at the time of the family departing Germany.
26 Mar 1873, the family departed Hamburg, Germany aboard the British Queen en route to Liverpool, England, VIA West Hartlepool. Hamburg passenger list, Indirect Band 21, p 182a
15 Apr 1873 the family arrived at the Port of New York from Liverpool, aboard the S.S. Minnesota. Sibling Herman immigrated about 1876.
Apx 1898 August's family moved to Antelope Lake Township, Pierce, North Dakota.
August was hospitalized 25 May 1937 at N. D. State Hospital where he later died of Aortic Thrombosis at age 80 and is buried there.
Five children died in Wausau, Marathon, Wisconsin and have not been located to date:
