Mr. Ashcraft was a native of Union County, born October 1, 1881, to the late James Thomas Ashcraft & Bede Rowland Ashcraft.

Mr. Ashcraft attended Union County Schools, and was a Baptist.

His parents and his wife Minnie Stewart Phelps Ashcraft, whom he married in 1920 and she died May 5, 1961 preceded Mr. Ashcraft in death.

Survivors include his two sons; Harold C. Ashcraft of Garden Grove, California, and Charles E. Ashcraft of North Little Rock, Arkansas, two step sons; James Royce Phelps, of Rowell, and Hollis Phelps of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, two step daughters; Mrs. Donna Phelps Spakes of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Mrs. Cecile May Phelps Johnston of Rowell Community, Cleveland County, Arkansas, 18 grandchildren, and 18 great- grandchildren.

Rev. Frank Glover and Rev. Lloyd Smith held funeral Services at Rowell Baptist Church, Rowell Community, Cleveland County, Arkansas.

Burial was in the Rowell Cemetery by South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. OBIT provided by Linda Newman
