Columbus Grove, Ohio - Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock over the body of Jacob C. Best, ex-Putnam County Commissioner and Civil War veteran, at the home of his son, John Best near Kalida, west of this place.

He was born in Pleasant Township. Bright's disease caused his death, at the age of 67 years on Monday evening at 6 o'clock. He had been critically ill for a week. Mr. Best was well known over southern Putnam and northern Allen Counties. For two terms he served as Commissioner of Putnam County and was prominent in Grand Army affairs.

George Best, of Columbus Grove, is a brother.

Burial will be in Clevenger cemetery.
