Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Raney of Jasper celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary, June 14. They were married 50 years ago at Mt. Sherman by Tom Henderson (a JP for a number of years in Jasper.)
They are the parents of six children. They are Fay Kilgore of Kansas City, Paul Raney of Berryville, Nellie Kilgore of Jasper, Clifford Raney of Crest View, Fla., Franklin Raney of Charleston, S. Carolina, Jether Raney of Russelville.
Mr. and Mrs. Raney have 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Raneys' parents were pioneer settlers in Newton County. The Raneys have lived in Newton County all their lives.
