Ruth E. Neal, 90, of Columbus, formerly of Hope, died at 1:03 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Hickory Creek Health Center.
Mrs. Neal was retired as a school teacher and had taught at State Street and McKinley schools in Columbus, Petersville schools and also Brown County schools. She was a member of Hope First Baptist Church and Hope American Legion Auxiliary.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Mrs. Neal was born Sept. 16, 1915, in Brown County, the daughter of Allen and Jessie Grout Percifield. She married Oral E. Neal on May 5, 1946.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Baker of Columbus; a granddaughter, Tammy Ketner of Columbus; a grandson, Tracy Baker of Hope; great–grandchildren, Keith, Kyle and Mason Baker and Kayle, Cameron and Zachery Ketner, all of Columbus; and a sister, Mae Percifield of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 5, 1990; sisters, Eda Percifield and Janet Ferran; a brother, George Allen Percifield; and great–grandsons, Dakota James and Dominic Allen Ketner.
