Funeral Held for Jesse E. Smith
The Hamilton Herald-News Sept. 25, 1953

Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Bob Riley Chapel for Jesse E. Smith, 67, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Orville Holmes in Fort Worth Sunday following a long illness. Minister O. C. Ribble officiated. Pallbearers for the service were Lee Brinkley, Geo. Taylor, George Chambless, Bullard Chambless, Brents Witty, and Otis Sumerford. Arrangements for the service were in charge of the Bob Riley Funeral Home and burial was in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was a native of Hamilton County, born April 22, 1886, to George D.. and Mary Mandana Smith. He was married to Miss Merle Keller on November 28, 1906. One child, a daughter, was born to them.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Merle Smith, his daughter, Mrs. Orville Holmes; and three brothers, Charley, Oscar, and Jim Smith; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle West, Mrs. John Koen, Mrs. Ida Stifflemire, and Mr. Eunice Crowley; and three grandchildren, Warren, David, and Judy Holmes.
