The daughter of William and Mary Elzira (Boyers) Sauerhage. Married Fount Saul 16 Dec 1930. Four children. They farmed near Glenn then near McClure and finally to Grand Tower. Verna worked at Hale's Restaurant and then as a school cook.

Leaves children: Wilbur Saul of Loveland, Colorado, James Saul of Bettendorf, Iowa, Joyce Williams of Marion and Cheryl Rowland of Jonesboro.

Also surviving is a sister, Mary Mezo of Belleville. Her parents, six brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
