Carl Edward Bays, age 84, of Barbourville, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the son of the late W.J. "Bill Jesse" and Lucinda "Cinni" (McDonald) Bays, born to them on August 10, 1925 in Knox County. Carl was a well known Knox County Carpenter and House Builder; a Member of the River Baptist Church; and he served Country during World War II in the United States Marine Corps during which he served in the Pacific Theater; he also belonged to the (VFW) Veterans of Foreign Wars. Carl was preceded in death along with his Parents; by his three Sisters: Nannie Johnson, Fannie Kate Bays and Florence Miller; and by his two Brothers: Willie "Sheriff" Bays and Boyd Bays.

Carl is survived by his loving family

Funeral Services for Carl Edward Bays will be conducted on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the River Baptist Church with Rev. Denvil Taylor, Jr., Rev. Tim Phipps and Rev. Dewayne Smith Officiating. Burial will follow in the Warfield Cemetery with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 1410. Those serving as Pallbearers will be Family and Freinds.

The Bays family will receive friends at the River Baptist Church on Monday morning after 10:30 A.M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M.
