Jane Ann Fowler Sparks. Mrs. Bird was born in Fort
Hanson, Utah on February 6, I860. She moved to Paris
with her parents in 1864 and married William Bird of
Paris in 1878. Some years later they moved to Dingle.
They were the parents of fourteen children, nine of
whom survive her, Ed Bird of Nampa, Mrs. Laura Meeks,
Ray Bird, Roy Bird, Richard Bird, and Mrs. Ada Weaver all of Dingle; Mrs. Rebecca Dayton of Cokeville, Mrs. Ida
Homer of Montpelier, and Mrs. Thelma White of Nampa;
also thirty four grand children and twelve great grand children.
Funeral serivecs were held in Dingle February 6th, with Bishop Sam Humpherys presiding. The Dingle quartette furnished musical selections and the opening prayer
was by Hyrum Oakey; speakers were Walter Bird of Paris; Warren Sirrine of Dingle; O. H. Grimmett of Paris; vocal solo, "Going Home," Mrs. Alfred Oakey; vocal solo,
Elliot Budge, and vocal duet, Mrs. Oakey and Mr. Budge; Benediction, Clarence Lindsay. Interment was made in
the Dingle cemetery under the direction of the Williams mortuary.
