John (Jack) A. Logan, 87, passed away at his home on Christmas Day.
He was born to Arnold and Fannie M (Taylor) Logan on June 28, 1923, in Pickett County Tennessee.
He attended the First Baptist Church in New Harmony, He was a WW II Veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corps 897th Air Engineer Squadron. He also was a proud member of American Legion Post #370 in New Harmony, where he has served as a Commander and as Chaplin.

He was a Whirlpool Retiree.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorita J. (Fisher) Logan; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Chumley) Powell and Kathy (Chumley) Wagner-Hobbs; 1 grandson Jonathan Winebarger; brother F. Mitchell Logan; and sister, M. Lena Vaupel.

Surviving Jack are 3 daughters, Linda (Steve) Butler, of Wadesville, Indiana, Melissa (Jack) Swain, of Grayville, Illinois and Jacquelyn (Mike) Baxter of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; brother Melvin (Gerta) Logan, of San Marcos, California; 2 sisters, Ermine "Erma" Clifford, of Marion, Kentucky and S. Virginia "Ginny" Andry, of New Harmony, Indiana; a close family friend, Michelle Langston Jackson; his caregiver, Novena Bonnell; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the American Legion Post #370 in New Harmony, Indiana at 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #370 of new Harmony or to the First Baptist Church of New Harmony.
