Charley Dewey Blackshear was born July 17, 1893 at Round Rock, Texas but moved to the Jewell Community of Eastland County at a very young age and lived there most of his life except for the last nine years. He moved his family to Vernon, Texas about 1939. He was working there when he was accidently electrocuted while working on May 27, 1948.
He married Izetta Mae Mason on April 4, 1020 in Gorman, Texas and to this union six children were born - Jim Jack, Annie Lucille, Charley Robert, Bonnie Jean, Peggy Delores, and James Lee.
He was buried at Oakland Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas near the Duster Community.
