They are recorded on the 1850 & 1860
& 1870 census at Sanford, York, Maine.

Timothy was known as 'General Shaw'.
Commissioned as a captain in the militia in 1817 he rose through the ranks to Brigadier General in 1838.
He was a very influential man in Sanford; as teacher, surveyor, merchant, manufacturer, innholder, postmaster, selectman, town clerk, school committeeman, and, state legislator.
He was proprietor of the Sanford Hotel.
