Baptised Julius Gottlieb Wicke.
Born in Lagershausen, Hannover, Germany.
Married Wilhelmine Wedekind on August 6, 1820 in Denkershausen, Hanover, Germany.

Gottlieb's and his family immigrated to Illinois, USA sometime before 1849.

Gottlieb was initially interred at St. Johannes Friedhof (St. John's Cemetery), of Addison Township, DuPage County, Illinois. He was re-interred between 2010-2012 to Eden Cemetery.

St. Johannes Church, near Bensenville in Addison Township, DuPage County, Illinois, USA was founded in 1849. That is when they built their first church, replacing it in 1873.

To make way for O'Hare's new and longer runways, church officials sold most of their land to the city. In 1952 they hoisted the church up on wheels and moved it into Bensenville, where it stands today on Route 83. A tall wooden cross in the cemetery marked the church's original location.

This cross and a monument for the St. Johannes Church and Cemetery were transferred to the new location in Eden Memorial Park Cemetery by the end of summer 2012, where many of the burials were re-interred in Section 10.
