Helene Elizabeth Doxey, 51, of Waveland, MS passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Lakeshore, MS.

Helene was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority while attending The University of Mississippi and graduated with a masters degree in education. She taught 3rd grade at Gulfview Elementary - South Hancock County Elementary for 29 years. Also employed as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker for 19 years.

She received the honor of Teacher of the Year and District Teacher of the Year in 2008-2009.

Helene loved life, the beach, black jack, spending time with family and friends and especially loved her students past and present.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wall Doxey, Jr.

Survived by her brother, Ralph Doxey and his wife Jean, nieces, Renee Yates (Bill), Elizabeth Carlisle (Neil), Kathleen Clarkson (Dustin), nephew, Ralph Doxey, Jr., five great-nieces and nephews and great-aunt, Hallie K. Chatham.

Honorary Pallbearers are Rocky Pagano, Tommy Hayes, Dave Richardson, Eddie Danzey, Brian Schmidt, and Chris Austin.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm with a prayer service to follow at 4:00 pm at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS. Immediately following the service a celebration of life will be held at Emma's Eatery in Bay St. Louis, MS.

A visitation will also be held at Holly Springs Funeral Home in Holly Springs MS on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10 am until 12 noon. Interment will be in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs at 2:00 pm.

Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of local arrangements.
