---Deloma Evelyn Carder Baker, 71, formerly of LaPlata, died at 5:50 Saturday morning (Aug. 20, 1983) in her home in Colville, Wash. Death was unexpected and attributed to an apparent heart condition.
---The daughter of Ray and Leona Meador Tucker, she was born June 19, 1912 in LaPlata. On Feb. 3, 1934 in Memphis, she was married to Richard Carder who preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1979. On Feb. 20, 1982 in Colville, Wash., she was married to William A. Baker who survives. Also surviving are two step-sons, Richard Baker and Donald Baker, both of Colville, Wash.; one half-brother, Harmon Tucker of Omaha, Nebr. and several cousins in the LaPlata area.
---Mrs. Baker was reared in LaPlata where she received her education. Following her marriage she resided in Perry until 1955 when she returned to LaPlata. In the early 1980's she moved to the state of Washington.
---Mrs. Baker was a member of LaPlata Chapter BF, PEO. She was also a member of the LaPlata Community Presbyterian Church where funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Thursday morning (Aug. 25, 1983). The Rev. Timothy McClain, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the LaPlata Cemetery.
---After two o'clock Wednesday afternoon the body will be at the Pollock Funeral Home in LaPlata where it will remain until nine o'clock Thursday morning when it will be taken to the church.
