John "Jack" Kenneth Biegger, 82, passed away March 29, 2010, at home following a long battle with MS. Born March 7, 1928, in McMinville, Ore., he moved with his family, shortly thereafter to Miami. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy Air Corps at age 16 and served as a radio gunner until the end of World War II. He attended Stetson University in Deland, Fla., where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and graduated from the University of Miami with a Juris Doctor degree. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, and worked in the land department of Richfield Oil Corp., until he moved to Las Vegas. A retired automobile dealer, he was a 45-year resident. Jack cared deeply for people and remained committed to charitable causes throughout his life. He had absolute integrity and was a great friend. He enjoyed boating and golf, but his great love was flying. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, James K. Biegger and Peggy Kain Biegger. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Biegger; son, Kirk Biegger of Las Vegas; daughter, Whitney Biegger of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Jeanne Biegger Martin of Beverly Hills, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marie Brown of Las Vegas; and four-legged companion, Lucca. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary, Shade Tree Shelter or a charity of your choice.
