She was the wife of the late George Vining.
She leaves a daughter, Linda Kelley of Chatham; four grandchildren, Alexandria Jean of Brighton, Madison Paige of Chatham, Georgia Violet of Harwich and Courtney Joyce of Chatham. She was the sister of Earl Potter of Pennsylvania, Virginia O'Connell of Halifax, and Barbara Panos of Florida.
She was born in Jamaica Plain and moved to Medford when she married George. They traveled to Cape Cod every year in the summer until they purchased land in Chatham. They lived above an ice cream shop in Chatham while her dream house was built in 1972. They opened George's Place Fish Market in 1976 in Harwich Port.
She loved collecting cookbooks and antiques. She had a laugh that would light up the room.
Memorial services will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main St., West Harwich. She will have a private burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne where her husband and parents are buried.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Harwich Family Pantry, Queen Anne Road in Harwich.
