OBITUARY

THE CHARITON LEADER
Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, November 8, 1917

A. G. JOHNSON

Anders Gustaf Anderson was born in Sweden, April 4th, 1835, and died at Chariton, Iowa, November 6th, 1917, aged 82 years, 7 months and 2 days. He came to this country in 1868, and settled in Chariton, his wife and one daughter following in 1870.

He was married in the old country to Gustava Anderson, in October, 1859. To them were born fourteen children, eight of whom died in infancy, and two since coming to womanhood. The surviving children are Mrs. Clara Carlson, Carl O., and Clarence Martin, all of Boone, and Fred G. Anderson, of this city, who were all present at the funeral.

Deceased was in the furniture business in Chariton for several years and later lived on the farm. He was a member of the Lutheran church in Sweden and held the same relation part of the time in this country.

The funeral services were conducted this forenoon at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. W. Curtis, after which interment took place in the Chariton cemetery.
