Cleghorn A. Boyd Jr., 80, of Honolulu, a retired federal assistant fire chief, died April 24 in Straub Hospital. He was also a World War II veteran and received the Silver Star for his bravery.

Born in Honolulu, he is survived by daughters Anella Lopes, Gladys Pagan, Sandy and Mignonette Boyd and Alexandra Achiu; sisters Helen Rathburn and Janis Strohlin; brother Richard H.; stepbrother Thomas Kiesel; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services: 12:45 p.m. Friday at Mililani Downtown Mortuary. Call after 11 a.m. Burial: Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire.
