KILLEEN — Services for Manuel A. Artavia, 57, of Killeen are 6 p.m. Monday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Mr. Artavia died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at his home.

He was born on March 8, 1953, to Magdalena and Miguel Artavia in Costa Rica. He moved to this area about four years ago from California.

On Sept. 26, 1978, he married Carmen Maria Castillo in Whittier, Calif. He was employed with the city of Killeen as a supervisor with the Parks and Recreation Department.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sylvia Barela of California and Lucia Barrera and Christina Artavia, both of Killeen; three brothers, Miguel Artavia of Costa Rica, Louis Artavia and Rudy Artavia, both of California; a sister, Estela Soto of California; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73101-0036 or www.feedthechildren.org.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
