Mrs. Geramanis was born September 9, 1925, the daughter of Samuel and Abbie (Morrell) O'Brien. She married Gus A. Geramanis on February 3, 1945, in Rock Island. He died December 29, 1996.
She was one of the Quad Cities pioneer female radio broadcasters. She worked for the former WHBF-AM Radio in Rock Island during the 60's and 70's. Nancy was an award winning cook and poet. Her family was important to her, especially her grandchildren. She was very active with the University of Illinois extension and a life-time PTA member in Rock Island Public Schools.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Edwin Choate, LeClaire, Iowa, Virginia Leigh "Ginger" Geramanis, Bettendorf, and Julie and Bill Wilson, LaGrange, Ill.; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Diane Geramanis, Wheaton, Ill., and Gary and Christine Geramanis, Canton, Mass., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
