Born in Otatti near Salerno, one of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Oldest brother Pasquale brought older brother Joseph to US then Henry arrived NY in 1913. Went to Philadelphia, worked in candy manufacture and for the PRR. He and brothers entered US Army. He served in France and discharge papers state he earned his US citizenship. He was the fastest at putting on his gas mask. Upon discharge, worked as a Hatter for John B. Steson Co. in Phila. returned to Otatti, met, married Emilia Bamonte in May 1923. First son Dominic died 1929, daughter Carmen Mary lives in NY, youngest child John died several weeks after birth. Lived in Phila. near 5th & Diamond until the late 30's, moved to G & Tioga until 1954, then at 4113 K St. in Juniata Park. He visited Otatti in 1965 and was amazed how little it changed. Moved to Flushing NY in 1981 to live with his daughter. He was mentally sharpo and had very quick reflexes. Died at St. Clair's hospital after a brief illness. Three grandchildren: Anthony Beatrici, Joanne Schlesinger, & Marianne Conte; Great-Grandchildren: Nicholas Beatrici & Christine Schlesinger. He enjoyed a healthy retirement and loved Pinoccole, talking about the Jersey Shore, and visits from his grand children and their friends. He had a teasing sense of humor that many loved. Proud of his service in the Army, his US Citizenship, and the opportunities this country gave his family.
