DECATUR - Robert Marcus Sheibly, 81, of Decatur died 4:50 p.m. Monday (Aug. 16, 1999) in Decatur Memorial Hospital
Mr. Scheibly was born in Decatur on March 25, 1918, the son of William David and Edna Mae Shastid Scheibly. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the 33rd division of the 130th Infantry. He married Nellie Ruth Smith on Aug. 2, 1941 in Huntsville, Ala. She preceded him in death on April 3, 1989.
Surviving are his sons, Robert D. Scheibly and wife Linda, William K. Scheibly and wife Sharon and Michael D. Scheibly and wife Barbara, all of Decatur; Steven K. Scheibly and wife Sally of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Wayne and wife Alice of Booneville, Mo., Charles and wife Laveda of Fairfield, Calif.; Richard of Oakland, Calif.; Jesse and wife Rose Mary of Decatur; Russel and wife Betty Jane of Ottawa; Lyn and wife Wanda of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.
