Aaron M. Womack, Sr. of 1216 W. Market St., died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, April 18, 1977, at Commerce Medical & Surgical Hospital, Commerce after an extended illness and being in the hospital two weeks.

Funeral services were held at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, April 20th, with the Rev. Michael Dyar officiating and the Rev. Don Bourland assisting. Burial was made at Dial Cemetery in the Dial Community.

Pallbearers were Harvey Nunnelley, Preston Erwin, B. B. Gregory, Boyd Marshall, Rayford Stroud and John Beachum.

Mr. Womack was born in Flint City, Alabama on April 22, 1886, to William Womack and Hattie Crow Womack.

He was married at Honey Grove April 21, 1905, to Elizabeth Barrett, who preceded him in death January 12, 1958. He was a retired farmer, a school board trustee at Bledsoe School for eighteen years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Honey Grove.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Lois) Erwin of Commerce; six sons, Harvey Womack and Lloyd Womack, both of Honey Grove, Chester Womack of Grand Prairie, Leroy Womack of Dallas, Aaron Womack, Jr. of Garland; one sister, Betty Strickland of Coolidge, Arizona; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. One son, Ray Day Womack, preceded him in death February 19, 1936.
