William F. (Barney) Fonner, 82, of Greene County Health Care Center, Waynesburg, formerly of Washington, died at 2:15 pm. Saturday, September 7, 1985, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, following a long illness.
Born April 22, 1903, in Amity, he was a son of Thomas and Phoebe Huffman Fonner.
Mr. Fonner was a carpenter and, prior to his retirment, had worked for many local contractors.
He was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist church, Washington.
On August 15, 1928, he married Lillian M. Williams, who died April 5, 1984.
Mr. Fonner was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
One son, Thomas R. Fonner; six brothers, Harold, James, Frank, Randolph, Lloyd and Earl Fonner, and two sisters, Gladys Myers and Erma Leyda, are deceased.
