. Donnie Ray LaViness was born February 12, 1930 in Oklahoma to Donovan and Elsie Pearl (Hiland) LaViness.
. After graduating from high school Donnie completed two years at Okmulgee Tech.
. He and his family lived in Broken Arrow for many years.
. Donnie was a mechanic at American Airlines for thirty-three years before his retirement.
. After living in Shawnee for a time, Donnie and Wilma moved to back to the Rocky Point area near Wagoner, OK.
. His favorite hobby was fishing.
. Donnie died Friday, December 31, 2010 in Wagoner, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 19 days.
. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
. He is survived by his wife, Wilma LaViness of the home; three sons, Larry LaViness and his wife, Sandy, of Wagoner, Donald Gene LaViness and his wife, Renee of Broken Arrow and Danny LaViness of the home; two grandsons: David LaViness of the home and Tom LaViness of Broken Arrow; step-grandchildren, Kevin and Autumn Merideth, Randy Merideth, Teresa and Shannon Wilson, Jay Dyer, Jimmy Ferguson, Paula Youngblood and Laura Sutherland; his sister-in-law, Beth Hayes; nephew, Shannon Hayes; his great-grandchildren; many other relatives and his friends.
. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Carl Murphy officiated.
