DEATH OLD UNION SOLDIER CAPS.
Died, in this city, at 1:30 this morning, Michael O'Brien, who was born in Claire County, Ireland, July 1, 1844.
The deceased was an old union soldier, who served during the Civil War, having settled in this section after the conclusion of the war. He lived a good many years at Rio Grande City, moving to Brownsville some years ago, however, and continuing to make this his home ever since. He was married in this section and is survived by six children, the eldest of whom is the wife of Lucio Bouis, now living in Mexico. He was a member of the local G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic) post, and drew a pension as a retired soldier, with service during the war to his credit. Much sympathy is felt here for the bereaved family. The deceased had been in very bad health for a long time, and death relieved him of long-suffering.
The Funeral took place this afternoon at four o'clock from the family residence.
(Burial was in the Brownsville City Cemetery.)
