Doris at Onset Beach near East Wareham on Cape Cod. It was her favorite place. When she died many years later her ashes were spread just behind where she stood in this picture in the waters of Onset Bay while we played On Old Cape Cod by Patti Page. It was her request.

Doris wanted to be an ambulance driver for the Red Cross, but went to work in the Hingham, MA shipyard during WWII.
