Roy J. "Red" Lee, 85, of Clarksville, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville.
The son of the late Roy R. and Lorena Haller Lee, Red was born July 23, 1925, in New Albany. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and life member of VFW Post 3281 in New Albany. In the 1950s, Red was the star pitcher for New Albany's fast pitch softball league. He retired from B. F. Goodrich Co. in Louisville and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville. Red was an avid golfer, loving husband, father and papa.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Hinkle and her husband, Ray, of Palatka, Fla., and Deborah Thomas and her husband, Carl, of Missoula, Mont.; grandson, Troy Lee Keach; great-grandson, Chris Lee Keach; nephew, Ray Oltman and his wife, Patty; niece, Diana Cornell and her husband, Tommy; special friend, Etta Devine; other grandchildren, Tammy Borrows, Steven Thomas and Sheri, Michael and Ray Hinkle; other great-grandchildren, Rose, Stephanie, Caleb, Sarah and Amber; four great-great-grandchildren; and many great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce M. Lee; and siblings, Evelyn Cotter, Nonie Bough and Bob Lee.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany.
Entombment will be private at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
